The Gospel Message is Good News for all of us. The Bible gives us a very clear account of the need that we all have for a Savior. The reality is that we have all sinned. Romans 3:23 states, "For all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God". It doesn't matter if the sin is great or small, frequently or rarely committed. "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 623a). Now this doesnt sound like Good News. Matter of fact, it is terrible news. From God's perspective, we are dead in our trespasses and sins (Ephesians 2:1). Unless we have help and are rescued, we have no hope at all. This is where the Good News comes in. The Bible states that "God demonstrates His love for us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8). Since the penalty for sin is death, it will have to be paid. Either that is something that we must do (and cannot ever do), or something Someone else does for you who is not under the same penalty. The fact is that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life. He came with the purpose of dying on the cross on our behalf - paying the penalty that we could not pay ourselves. Through Him, the debt that we owed is cancelled and we can now have a changed relationship with God. No longer His enemy, but now His child. With that new relationship, we enjoy the forgiveness of our sins, the peace we seek, and the hope of eternal life. All of this is accomplished for us through Jesus Christ. We can contribute nothing. All He calls us to do is to respond by faith and believe Jesus Christ to be our Savior, the Only Way to the Father.
We, at the Hillsdale Bible Church, believe in the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We would like for you to know this Good News and believe it too. If you have questions, or if you would like to tell us that you have come to know Jesus as your Savior too, please send us an email or letter. Our desire is to proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called us out of darkness and put us into His marvelous light!
